You Can Know God
"The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard." | Psalm 19:1-3
He Is Closer Than You Know
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." | John 3:16-17 (NKJV)
Below is a simple explanation of how the Bible declares that we can know God—not just know about God, but actually have a relationship with Him.
Do you know for certain that you have eternal life?
If God asked you, “Why should I let you into My heaven?” what would you say?
The Bible says, “I write these things to you ... that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13). One reason the Bible was written is to assure us that we have eternal life. Here is how you can have assurance of your salvation.

The Bible says, “I write these things to you ... that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13). One reason the Bible was written is to assure us that we have eternal life. Here is how you can have assurance of your salvation.
01 — Realize you are a sinner
You've probably heard someone say they are a good person. You may have called yourself a "good person." The problem is that our standard is not God's standard. God is the only One who can rightly declare if anyone is truly good, and scripture tells us clearly that "No one is good - not even one."
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..." | Romans 3:23

02 — Recognize that Jesus died for you
The Bible teaches that Jesus accomplished what we could not do for ourselves. He lived a perfect life, and gave Himself as a sacrifice for our sins, taking the penalty that we deserved.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." | Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." | Romans 6:23
03 — Repent and walk in the light
"If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." | 1 John 1:6-8

Your Response
A Prayer to Receive Salvation
Dear Father,
Thank You that You love me.
I know that I am a sinner, and I cannot save myself.
Thank You, God, for Your mercy and justice.
Thank You, Jesus, for dying on the cross for my sins and paying the price I could not pay.
Today I place my trust in Jesus Christ alone — I repent and ask for You to forgive my sins and to give me eternal life. I submit to You as the Lord of my life.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
If you just prayed this for the first time, here's the truth to stand on: Jesus said, 'Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life' (John 6:47). If you believed and trusted in Him just now, that promise is yours — not because of anything you've done, but because of what Christ has already done for you.
Your Next Step
1. Read the Bible — start with the Gospel of John.
2. Pray — simply talk with God each day.
3. Worship — find a Bible-believing church.
4. Fellowship — connect with other believers.
5. Witness — share what Christ has done in your life.
